When a targeted repair makes sense
A repair is the right call when the failure is localised — one collapsed section, one root-infested joint — and the rest of the system is still functional. The camera shows the condition along the whole line, not just the problem spot, which is what tells us whether the rest will hold.
When replacement is the honest answer
Replacement makes sense when three things are true: the system has failed in more than one area, the materials are at end of life (clay tile, old corrugated pipe), and the cost of repeated repairs would exceed doing it once properly. In that case, patching one section just moves the failure downstream.
